Name of Position: Cashier
Location of work: Markham, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Mississauga, Waterloo, Ottawa
Job Description: Reporting to the Cashier Department Head (or his/her delegates), the Cashier is responsible for delivering fast and accurate check-out service, as well as providing courteous support in customer enquiry.
Compensation: $ TBD
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: 30 to 40 hours
(Company – provides staff purchase discount, discounted staff meals, paid annual leave, sick leave, marriage leave and bereavement leave. Life and AD&D insurance coverage.)

Employment Conditions: Indoors – Able to work in cold (around 10°) environment.
Description of employer: The Employer is established and a well reputed Supermarket chain with 27 stores across the country with nine stores in Ontario, (seven in GTA, one in Ottawa, one in Waterloo).

Responsibilities: This includes the following but not limited to:
• Greet customers by providing good customer service with a smile
• Cashier training is a must
• Bag/delivery merchandise
• Record totals of transactions and calculate total payments received during a time period accurately
• Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they are well-kept and are working appropriately
• Maintain checkout area cleanliness
• Demonstrate job commitment, accountable, reliable
• A good team player, able to collaborate with and assist other colleagues
• Possess a positive, proactive, self-motivated work attitude
• Duties as otherwise assigned

• Able to stand for a long time and use work related tools in a safe manner
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of basic work safety, Canadian currencies, and essential mathematics
• Relevant experience in handling cash is preferred
