Name of Position: Junior IT Technician

Location of work: Toronto

Job Description: The position prefers applicants who are willing to commute or relocate to Toronto, ON. The Junior IT Technicians are an integral part of the organization. They will look after various aspects of the computer system to ensure the networks are running smoothly. The technicians will be mentored in-house so they become comfortable with their set-up and their clients. There is also the potential for service provider training in the future to upgrade skills.

Compensation:       $30,000 – $50,000 per year (Based on knowledge and experience)

Benefits: Dental Care, Extended Health Care, On-Site Parking, Paid Time Off; after 3 months

Anticipated Start Date:  July 1

Terms of Employment: Full time permanent position

Description of employer: Founded in 1999, the organization has provided innovative solutions that help small and medium sized customers across Canada leverage their investments in technological infrastructure. They design, supply, install and support IT infrastructure solutions that improve productivity, reduce costs and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities: The Junior IT Technicians will be responsible for a variety of projects to support their customers’ networks. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

•  managing aspects of the networking platform
•  troubleshooting issues with Firewall, Anti-Virus, Backup, Help Desk, etc.
•  monitoring active infrastructures
•  documenting technical procedures and protocols; maintaining updated and accurate records
•  investigating hardware issues
•  developing and implementing improvements to existing operational procedures to maximize efficiency
The ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines is crucial to your success in the IT environment.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS – All applicants should meet the following:

•  a college diploma level or above education
•  1 to 2 years of previous related experience
•  Proficient with MS Office, Word & Excel
•  Work/education background in computer technology is preferred
•  Reliable with a good record of attendance
•  Energetic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
•  Personable and friendly demeanor
•  Legally able to work in Canada
•  Language – English (mandatory) and Spanish (an asset)
